Cape Horn

A symbolic place, Cape Horn or Cabo de Hornos in Spanish is considered the southernmost point in the world. It was the landmark of the ancient trade routes to circumnavigate the American continent by the South, the passage between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans before the opening of the Panama Canal. This passage, which was considered to be dangerous, is now only used for sporting competitions such as the Vendée Globe.
