Chile is a country of wide open spaces, with grandiose landscapes and very different according to the regions.

You will discover these wild landscapes through different hikes, from the Atacama Desert, to the glaciers of Patagonia through the maritime lands of the island of Chiloé.

Visit to the Valley of the Moon and Death, located 16 km from San Pedro de Atacama.

The Salt Cordillera, formed 22 million years ago. Huge lumps of colored earth, brown and grayish with different shapes thanks to the action of the wind.

Once arrival at the Valley of the Moon, one of the best preserved and most exotic sanctuaries in the region. Visit of the statues "las tres Marias".

After a nice long walk and a beautiful sunset, return to San Pedro de Atacama.

day 4: Visit Garganta del Diablo Canyon by bike
Bike ride in the Garganta del Diablo canyon.

This site is ideal for cycling enthusiasts: between 3 and 4 hours of mountain biking in this desert in the middle of nature.

Sporty but accessible to all, this hike will offer to the most adventurous a guaranteed sensation and to those who wish, a peaceful ride far from the tourist crowds.

Curves, narrow passages and cavities make up the first part of this loop of about 20km. After a few sensational descents, the canyon opens up in the shape of a valley and reveals a wide view of the Atacama's reliefs.

day 5: Visit Garganta del Diablo Canyon by bike
Visit the Salar de Atacama, and see layers of salt produced by the evaporation of underground salt water. also the Chaxa Lagoon inhabited by beautiful animals such as flamingos .

Head towards the town of Toconao, an abundant "freshwater oasis" and fruit trees.

Then Socaire (3,250 m), Miñiques and the Miscanti Lagoons, (at 4,000 m) which were formed 1 million years ago with the eruption of the Miñiques volcano.

Return to Pedro de Atacama.

day 6: Tatio geysers and thermal waters / Cejar and Tebenquinche lagoons
The Tatio Geysers, which are located at 4320 m above sea level, with the emergence of violent steam jets at 85º.

Opportunity to have breakfast and bath in the thermal waters (at 30ºC), and to observe not only the landscape but also wild animals such as Vicuña and Viscachas (Andean rodent).

Road back to San Pedro de Atacama passing by Machuca, a small village and the opportunity to taste some excellent empanadas and sopaipillas.

Departure to the northern part of the Salar, the Lake of Cejar with emerald green water and on the edges of salt crystals, where it is possible to swim and even float on these waters rich in salt and minerals such as lithium.

Going south of Cejar you find the Tebenquinche lagoon, with more vegetation around.

day 7: Morning at leisure and transfer to Calama and flight to Santiago

3 hours before your flight, transfer to Calama airport.

day 8: Santiago / Puerto Montt / Chiloé
Private transfer to the international airport (about 45 minutes).

Flight from Santiago de Chile to Puerto Montt (about 1h45 flight time).

Transfer by private service. You will cross the Chacao Canal to Chiloé by ferry. Arrival in Castro.

day 9: Historical Ancud - Penguin Colony
Departure to the northern part of the island of Chiloé. North of the Puñihuil bay, the only place in the world where Humboldt and Magellan penguins nest side by side.

Visit the islets where, for half an hour, you will observe the two species of penguins, but also other animals, such as 4 species of cormorants, pelicans, Kelp goose (carangues) and, on occasion, the sea otter.

Lunch in a local restaurant where you can taste the products of the Chilean countryside and the sea.

After lunch, drive to Ancud, which was once the capital of Chiloé, to visit its fort and the "Foundation of Friends of the Churches of Chiloé".

day 10: Walk to Pointe Pirulil, the Port of Souls
To the south of Chiloé National Park is Punta Pirulil, a place mainly occupied by natives.

The Cucao sector, and the Rahue sector, and visit to a couple of locals, great fossil collectors and experts of these remote places.

Punta Pirulil or "Muelle de las Almas", the port of souls. According to legend, when physical body dies, the soul of the defunct settles on this pier to ask to be transported. A ship with white sails then approaches and the captain asks for two coins, in exchange for leading the soul to the afterlife... ...

This is the place of a break, where we can also observe the Pacific Ocean.

day 11: Hike in Chiloé National Park, El Tepual Trail
Chiloé National Park is located on the west coast of the island.

The largest area of the park corresponds to the Piuchén mountain range.

You will leave Castro to the south, on the way, you will visit Chonchi, for its church, a World Heritage Site, and one of the largest on the island.

Continuing towards the national park to Huillinco.

Lakes Huillinco and Cucao. In the Cucao sector, the gateway to the park, Head towards the west coast to observe the Pacific Ocean in all its glory.

Walk along the beaches and trails of the park to enjoy one of the best preserved places in Chiloé. Return to Castro.

day 13: Hiking Lago Sarmiento
Journey with a slight inclination with a side view of the imposing Lake Sarmiento.

Arrival at an eaves where it is possible to observe a series of rock paintings dating back more than 6000 years.

Then, Laguna Blanquillos, a nesting and feeding place for different endemic bird species.

Arrival at the main access to the Torres del Paine National Park: Laguna Amarga objective.

After a short break, return to the vehicle to drive to the Cascada Paine.

Lunch in the form of a lunch box.

Cañadón Macho, an area where it is possible to observe large groups of guanacos that coexist with species such as Ñandú, Zorro Gris, Cóndor, Águila Mora. To finish, return to Puerto Natales.

Dinner on your own.

Night in Puerto Natales.

Steps: Chilean Patagonia Sarmiento lake Parc national Torres del Paine
day 14: Trekking Base Las Torres
Departure towards the Laguna Amarga objective in the Torres del Paine National Park, located 129 km from the city.

Continue to the Hotel Las Torres, from where start the hike round trip to the Mirador de las Torres.

Walk through the Ascencio Valley until you reach the El Chileno hut (2 hours). After a rest at the El Chileno hut, Continue the ascent through a stony moraine that will lead directly to the viewpoint.

Lunc in picnic on the spot.

Descent through the El Chileno camp until the Las Torres hotel and then back to Puerto Natales.

day 15: Puerto Natales / Punta Arenas / Santiago / Valparaiso
Transfer by private service between Puerto Natales and the bus terminal .

Travel by bus from Puerto Natales to Punta Arenas. Private transfer between Punta Arenas and the airport .

Flight from Punta Arenas to Santiago de Chile (about 3h30 flight time).

Arrival at Santiago International Airport and departure from the capital to the coastal city of Valparaiso, during the journey of about 1h40 minutes, you can admire the landscapes designed by the different wine estates of the Casablanca Valley.

Day at leisure to discover Valparaíso.

Here you are in Valparaiso, the country's second largest city and one of the major ports on the Pacific coast. The city is built on many hills (45 in all!), dotted with houses with colourful facades. It is an endearing, bohemian city with a typically Latino atmosphere.

You will leave by private vehicle from Valparaiso to reach Santiago airport.

During the 1h40 journey you can observe a change in climate and landscapes from the humid coast to the more desert landscapes.
