Difficulty levels of travel

Antipode works with a difficulty rating system for its trips so that you can choose the most suitable tour according to your abilities.


Easy (1) :

No or very little sports and physical activity. These trips are open to everyone and is generally accessible on cultural visits. If the trip includes a physical activity such as walking, it is limited in time and of low level. 

Average (2) :

These trips include physical activities such as mountain biking or trekking, which can last several days. They require a correct physical shape, for people who regularly practice a sport activity. Travel conditions can sometimes be summary with nights in tents, shelters or homestays for example. The duration of the walk per day can be 7 hours maximum with a positive difference in altitude of about 800m.

Difficult (3):

Stays including an intense physical activity, mainly trekking. The walking time per day can be more than 7 hours on some days and the elevation gain can be more than 1000m, on uneven terrain with sometimes passes at high altitudes (over 5000m). For people in good physical shape. These trips include sometimes difficult travel conditions with many nights in tents, subject to climatic hazards.
