The Street Art of Valparaiso

Valparaiso, "Valpo" for Chileans, is a real open-air museum.

On the heights of the city, especially the Cerros Concepción and Alegre, almost all facades are covered with murals of all kinds.

All the houses are very colorful - even the Apple Green Church, when they are not covered by graffiti representing faces, scenes of daily life or some imagery from the imagination of artists.

The large concentration of paintings in the same place creates a unique atmosphere. The many staircases that line these hills are no exception: some of them are entirely painted according to various themes.

It is a real pleasure to walk through these narrow and colorful streets offering a unique spectacle in an explosion of colors.
