What are the entry formalities for a trip to Chile?

1. Passport and Visa

It is not necessary to obtain a Visa to enter Chile.

The presentation of your passport is mandatory: it must be valid on the date of exit from Chile. 

During a tourist stay, the entry stamp on your passport authorizes you to stay for a maximum of 90 days.

Warning: Upon entering Chilean territory, the customs service will give you a "Tarjeta de Turismo", which you must keep carefully as you will be asked to do so when you leave the country. It is a simple piece of paper that looks like a receipt that many travelers throw away without knowing its purpose.

2. In the context of a trip by car 

In addition to your original national driver's license, a valid international driver's license is mandatory, although it is rarely requested by car rental companies or by the police during checks. 

3. Vaccinations

No particular vaccine is required during your stay in Chile.
