Around 6:30 AM, you’ll be transferred to the boarding point in the "Laredo Sector", located 15 miles north of the city.
boat.png After 30-40 minutes of sailing through the waters of the Magellan Strait (Estrecho de Magallanes), you’ll arrive at Marta Island, followed by Magdalena Island.
These two islands create a unique ecosystem, making Marta Island a fascinating destination, home to over 1,000 sea lions, cormorants, skuas, southern gulls, Antarctic pigeons, and elephant seals.
Meanwhile, Magdalena Island offers the chance to interact with one of the largest Magellanic penguin colonies (around 150,000 birds). You’ll disembark here for about an hour to walk among the penguins, observe them up close, and visit the island’s lighthouse museum.
During the boat ride, keep an eye out for austral dolphins and Commerson’s dolphins (toninas overas).
Return to Punta Arenas afterward.
Afternoon at leisure.
